Grant Career Center
Give Back 2023

Many, many thanks to Jason Akers and his great crew of students form Grant Career Center! The Grant Give Back Day in our community makes such a difference and they were such a fun bunch!

You can see the before and after of the storage building behind the Bethel Historical Museum. This building was in bad shape and had so much in it that had been discarded over the years.

They went to work and emptied the building of everything. Bethel Historical Society Trustee and building maintenance manager, Sherry Wallingford, and I started sorting through each box and item to determine what we could use, what we could recycle, what to get rid of and what we could lend out to other museums or donate to other non-profits. You can see it was a huge task. We wondered how it all fit in that small building!

Thank you, Lamont Baudendistel, Historical Society Trustee and VP, for bringing your truck and hauling away the broken and useless items. Way too much for our dumpster!

It was a big day of hard work. Under the direction of Mr. Akers, the students scraped old paint, repaired and filled in cracks, rebuilt the door frames and doors and painted the building.

Thank you, Grant Career Center, for supporting the community and the Bethel Historical Museum! These students made this old building look like new!

Night at the Museum
September 2023

The Bethel Historical Society Fundraising Team would like to thank everyone who participated and supported the Night At The Museum on Sept.21. We had a wonderful time and had a lot of fun visiting with all of you!

The funds raised are going toward having some new windows put in part of our building. New windows are so badly needed and little by little we will get the old ones all replaced. This is why these events are so important to us. Together we can accomplish a lot just by sharing our time, talents, and treasurers.

Thanks to all our sponsors: The Roger Holland Family, Holman Motors, E.C. Nurre Funeral Homes, and Wichard Oil. Thank you to Discover Clermont for printing all of the programs and poster boards at the event. Many thanks to our wineries, Fulton Grove, Meranda-Nixon, and Indian Springs for sharing their wonderful wines. The musicians, Larry O’Hara, Fred Hannah and Kinner Express, were entertaining and provided the perfect variety of music. Thanks to Sherry Wallingford, Susan Barger, Sandy Howison, Rich Milton, Debbie Fancher, Terry, Carolyn and Lucas Holland, Bradley Lung, Terry Adams, Ray Gelter and several others who helped with set-up, decorations, monitoring tables, and clean-up.

I’m sorry if I missed naming you, but things were so busy I didn’t get to see who was doing what!

These fundraising events are only successful with your continued support.

Save the dates for our Annual Fundraiser Dinner at Grant Career Center on Thursday, April 4, 2024 and our 3rd Annual Night At the Museum on Sept. 19, 2024.

Members of the Bethel Historical Fundraising Committee: Vicki Holland, Krista Martin, Jeremy Trester, Kim Patton, Craig and Melissa Copestick, Steve and Darci Newman and Judi Adams

We always welcome new members! Enjoy your day!
